FIMECC became EFFRA member

• FIMECC was accepted as a member of EFFRA in July 2010 (Public-private-partnership organization to implement the EU "Factories of the Future" research package). As a member of EFFRA, FIMECC is going to lead its shareholders to increased EU-level activities in R&D.

FIMECC joined Energy Hills

• FIMECC joined Energy Hills in order to reach EU-level coordinator position of intelligent machinery research. Finnish organisations have an acknowledged leadership in this research area and FIMECC as a Finnish coordinator company could serve the EU-level research by coordinating this research area. The consortium and operational model is under construction.
• Energy Hills is the largest European Energy Competence Cluster and therefore, the leader in the European Union when it comes to know-how and competence in the energy sector.
• Energy Hills combines the energy industry-related expertise, research and development skills of ten leading Austrian, German, Dutch, Belgian and Finnish universities-

ELEMET gets new leader

• Program manager of ELEMET research program Vesa Karvonen from Lappeenranta University of Technology will concentrate on new challenges outside FIMECC. Vesa has made great work in starting the program during its challenging first year. Vesa has also successfully informed the program's news both to the "insiders" and to the public audience. FIMECC thanks Vesa for the great job!

All-time first SHOK Summit gathered interest

• About 500 people attended at SHOK Summit seminar held on April 20 in Helsinki, where all the six Finnish Strategic Centres for Science, Technology and Innovation (SHOK) presented themselves. The seminar brought together wide range of representatives from business and science.

• FIMECC has launched newsletter, that gives readers information regarding FIMECC activities, results, challenges, and opens new perspectives into innovations. Publishing FWD Bulletin is in continuous process. Latest FWD Bulletin is always available at the lower right side at FIMECC main page.

FIMECC continues large scale open innovation growth

• The newest three research programs of FIMECC Ltd. have been launched. Almost 100M€ between 2009-2014 will be invested in energy and life-cycle efficient machines, demanding material applications, and management of global high variety production.
